Science Fiction and Fantasy Saturday No. 16 (#sffsat) - Warlock's Pawn
/This snippet is from Warlock's Pawn and continues from the last one (click on the SFFSat tag at the bottom of the post to read past snippets). Warlock's Pawn is a fantasy romance inspired by The Arabian Nights. It was released last month and is available on LSBooks, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, ARe, and Kobo. I was busy interviewing another SFFSat author's erotic alter ego last week, so I couldn't participate. Just to recap--Alia had just flown off a cliff to save the Warlock her sister, Anora, attempted to kill. After nearly causing them to drop mid-flight, Duncan reaches the ground in one piece.
Dark lashes fluttered like fans against the sliver of creamy flesh exposed by turquoise fabric. “Your death damns thousands to a fate I will not accept,” she answered, sounding younger than he first assumed. Anora was only a few years his junior, and he had spent more than three decades battling to expand the Helicon empire. The girl before him sounded just over two decades old.
“And you saved me knowing war will follow. What do you see of the future that is to come?” From the exchange of magic, he’d learned this fey possessed the gift of foresight—a power both Anora and Radan lacked.
