Science Fiction and Fantasy Saturday No. 20 (#sffsat) - Warlock's Pawn - #FantasyRomance
/This snippet is from Warlock's Pawn and continues from the last one. Warlock's Pawn is a fantasy romance inspired by The Arabian Nights. It was released last month and is available on LSBooks, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, ARe, and Kobo. In the previous post, Duncan removed Alia's veil.
“What do you see?” she asked as her gaze bore into his, as if she were trying to catch her own reflection.
Stunned, he frowned. “You have never seen your own face.” It was a statement, not a question.
She cocked her face to the side and her head cover tightened to hint at pointed ears. “It is forbidden to remove the veil without complete darkness.”
As his gaze swept her moonlit form, reluctant admiration threatened to deter him from what must be done. “Your actions do not strike me as obedient. You flew into the abyss to save my life.”
