Science Fiction and Fantasy Saturday No. 19 (#sffsat) - Warlock's Pawn - #FantasyRomance
/This snippet is from Warlock's Pawn and continues from the last one (click on the SFFSat tag at the bottom of the post to read past snippets). Warlock's Pawn is a fantasy romance inspired by The Arabian Nights. It was released last month and is available on LSBooks, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, ARe, and Kobo. In the previous post, Alia told Duncan removing her veil means death. She didn't specify whose.
Shaking her head, she corrected him. “I speak of my execution, not yours.”
He chuckled. “Saving my life ensures the same punishment, and you knew that before you came. Anora will not discover this transgression any more than she will know I have seen your face.” With those words, he tugged down the front portion of the veil.
The fey’s hair and ears were still wrapped under blue fabric, but he could now see her soft rounded cheeks and small pert nose. Those full, slightly upturned lips were so pale they almost blended into her ivory skin. Ebony brows and lashes contrasted with the dewy face to bring attention to those odd-colored eyes.
